Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel received their Test cap from Anil Kumble and Dinesh Karthik respectively ahead of the start of the third Test in Rajkot. Both Anil Kumble and Dinesh Karthik gave a heartwarming speech while presenting the caps to both debutants.

Robin Uthappa tweeted about the heartwarming moment when Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel received their Test cap. India and England are facing each other in a five-match Test series with the third Test being played at the Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium in Rajkot.

Sarfaraz Khan worked hard to get a chance to debut for India in Test cricket. He is one of the rare modern players who got his opportunity after sheer hard work and performance in first-class cricket.

Sarfaraz Khan is not someone who regularly featured in IPL matches but has shown immense consistency in domestic cricket to make his place in the Indian team.

On the other hand, Dhruv Jurel got his maiden call-up as a backup wicketkeeper for KS Bharat. KS Bharat’s poor performance in the first two Tests got him the opportunity to debut for India in Test cricket.

\He has played 15 first-class games and in 19 innings he has scored 790 runs at an average of 46.47 including five half-centuries and a century which was a brilliant 249 against Nagaland in the Ranji Trophy in the year 2022.

Robin Uthappa congratulated both the players for their debut and wished them luck. He wrote, “This is so heartwarming and beautiful. So happy for Sarfaraz.. he truly deserved this and I hope and pray he makes a dent and plays for India for a long time to come. Very happy also for Jurel. His talent has shone through and I hope he makes the opportunity count. All the very best to both of them!!”

Sarfaraz Khan has a tremendous record in first-class cricket as he has amassed 3912 runs in 66 innings at an average of 69.85 including 14 centuries and 11 half-centuries.

He has been banging the selectors’ doors for a long time and he finally got his maiden call-up in this series and now he is making his debut in the third Test against England.

India and England are facing each other in the third Test of the five-match Test series at the Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium in Rajkot. The hosts are batting first and have crossed 100 after losing three early wickets.

Skipper Rohit Sharma has crossed the fifty-run mark and he is joined by local hero Ravindra Jadeja who is nearing his half-century as both have added more than 75 runs for the fourth wicket as of now in the third Test.
