After India’s 106-run win in the second Test match against England, the Indian cricket team will be hoping for the return of batsman Virat Kohli. Kohli opted out from the first two Tests of the series due to personal reasons and his availability for the rest three games is still under darkness.

Former South African batsman and one of Virat Kohli’s dearest friends, AB de Villiers, recently revealed that the former Indian captain is going to become a father for the second time.

Meanwhile, Indian head coach Rahul Dravid has opened up on Virat Kohli‘s availability for the rest three Test matches against England.

Dravid believes that it would be the selectors who have a clearer view of Virat’s current situation. Dravid stated that the selectors will announce the squad within a few days, however, the team management will also try to reach out to Virat Kohli.

‘It’s best to ask the selectors’ – Rahul Dravid on Virat Kohli’s availability for the rest of the three Tests against England

He said, “It’s best to ask the selectors. Selectors will be in better position to tell you as they are going to announce the squad in few days. We will connect with him and find out.”

A few days back as per a report by the Times of India, it was believed that Ajit Agarkar-led Indian men’s selection committee is waiting for a clear picture of Virat Kohli’s availability for the rest of three IND vs ENG Tests. The BCCI is also in no mood to push Virat to come and represent the team but they will also try and reach out to him due to the current position of the Indian middle order.

The winner of the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year was Indian batsman Virat Kohli, who had a fantastic year in 2023. Kohli concluded with 1377 runs from 27 games in 2023, ranking among the leading ODI run scorers. During the 2023 ODI World Cup, Kohli hit the most hundreds (8) and accomplished numerous other format benchmarks.

Virat Kohli became the first batsman in history to record 50 hundreds in one-day international cricket (ODI) after surpassing Sachin Tendulkar. At the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, during the ODI World Cup 2023 match against New Zealand, Kohli reached the milestone. The fact that he accomplished the milestone in front of Tendulkar made the innings extremely noteworthy.

Virat Kohli’s bat nearly stopped producing runs before the year 2023, and he was unable to reach hundreds. For more than ten years, Virat has dominated international cricket. Over the past twelve or thirteen years, he has also scored numerous hundreds. Nevertheless, between September 2022 and 2019, the contemporary master was unable to record any hundreds.

Virat Kohli was able to obtain starts over these three years, but he was unable to turn them into hundreds. However, during the Asia Cup 2022, Kohli was able to end his hundreds-long drought against Afghanistan. For many Indian supporters, Virat’s 71st international century against the Afghan squad was the moment they had been waiting for the most.

Since then, Virat Kohli has found his old form again and has been hitting runs just like he always did.
