India batter Sarfaraz Khan became the talk of the town during the ongoing Day 2 of the ongoing fifth Test against England. The last match of the five-match series between the teams is taking place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

After the carnage by Rohit Sharma (103) and Shubman Gill (110) on England bowlers, it was time for the Sarfaraz Khan show. The right-hander came to bat after India lost both the centurions and were under a bit of pressure. However, the Mumbai batter soaked in all the pressure.

Sarfaraz Khan took his time and it was all defense till the time he got set. However, once he was in, he made sure he made England pay and put his team in the driver’s seat. The batter got some quick runs as he hot flurry of boundaries and entertained the crowd big time.

One of the highlights of his innings was the way Sarfaraz Khan tackled Mark Wood. The batter took bowlers to cleaners and hit him all over the park. The pacer even sledged the batter but he looked unfazed by it and continued batting with great concentration.

Sarfaraz Khan raced away to his half-century and helped India take a lead of over 150 runs. But what caught the attention of many was his celebration after he recorded his fifty in the ongoing game against England at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

As Sarfaraz Khan reached his half-century, he raised his bat in joy and then blew a kiss to his wife, who was present in the stands. The whole crowd applauded his gesture and the video of the incident went viral on the internet within minutes of the incident.

Here’s the video:

Sarfaraz Khan made sure that India bossed the second session of the Day 2 as well. He along with Devdutt Padikkal, who also has hit a valiant half-century, put England on the backfoot and made a mockery of their bowling attack. The duo added 97 runs together off 132 balls.

Sarfaraz Khan perishes on the first ball of Day 2 after Tea

Sarfaraz Khan couldn’t set the stage on fire on the last session of the Day 2. He got out on the first ball after Tea as he perished to Shoaib Bashir. The off-spinner bowled a gentle off-break bowled a tad short outside off to which the batter tried to play the late cut.

However, Sarfaraz Khan couldn’t get the placement right as he handed a straight catch to the hands of Joe Root at lone slip. The length was a touch fuller than expected and the line was too close and the ball drifted before curling into the right-hander.

Sarfaraz Khan ended with an innings of 56 runs off 60 balls. He hit 8 boundaries and 1 six in his innings. This was his third fifty-plus score in Test cricket. He hit half-centuries in both the innings of his debut game in Rajkot.  The batter would be eager to convert his half-century to the ton in the next innings of the game.
