While Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj anchored India’s comeback on Day 3 of the third IND vs ENG Test, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was heard shouting at his fielders.

As per Rohit’s words, it seemed that India were three overs behind the overrate, due to which he wanted to finish the overs as quickly as possible. Sharma mentioned that India are three overs behind and if England gets all out they might get penalized for the same.

The incident took place after the end of 68th over England‘s first innings, wherein, Rohit Sharma was gesturing his fielders to bring the ball quickly and not waste time on the field.

Rohit Sharma said, “Ball to mangao yaar, hum log teen over peeche hain, ye log all out hogaye to apne ko 3 overs ka woh lagega (bring the ball early, we’re 3 overs behind, if England gets bowled out then we’ll get that (penalised)”.

India were able to wrap up England quickly on Day 3 for a score of 319 runs and gained a lead of over 100 runs in the first innings. India pacer Mohammed Siraj was the most successful bowler of the first innings and ended at 4/84. He ripped through the English tail and also bowled the most successful spell by a pacer in Rajkot. On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja picked up 2 wickets each followed by Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin, who ended the innings with 1 wicket.

England opener Ben Duckett was the highest run scorer of the England innings played a knock of 153 runs from 151 balls, which included 23 fours and 2 sixes. Apart from Duckett, English skipper Ben Stokes scored 41 runs off 89 balls, however, no other batsman was able to show some grace and got out cheaply.

India finished the Day 3 of the third IND vs ENG Test match at 196/2 wherein, Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed a brilliant century. Jaiswal smashed his second 100-plus score of the series and has put India in command of the third Test match. However, Jaiswal got retired hurt after feeling a back spasm for 104 runs. He added 155 runs along with Shubman Gill for the 2nd wicket, who is currently present at the crease along with Kuldeep Yadav.

Shubman Gill scored a welcome half-century and supported Yashasvi Jaiswal really well. Gill is currently unbeaten on 65 runs from 120 balls and will look forward to converting his overnight score into a big hundred on Day 3.

India will now want to increase their lead and set a formidable second-inning target for England. In the series, no team has yet to emerge victorious from a match while pursuing the target, and the hosts hope to continue this trend in the third Test. However, India would not have Ravichandran Ashwin in the lineup, which would mean that the bowlers would have to take on more responsibility and would not enjoy playing without him.

On the other hand, England have turned out to be a tough opposition for India in the series so far. The English team has given tough competition to the hosts in every department and now would be hoping to do so when they come out on Day 4 of the third Test match.
