IPL Points Table 2024: Orange Cap, Purple Cap List After SRH vs MI Match 8

The 8th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was host to the high-octane SRH vs MI on Wednesday (27th March). The two teams were up against each other at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Asked to bat first in the SRH vs MI game, Sunrisers Hyderabad were off to a brutal start in the game, thanks to Travis Head. The Australia batter had 62 runs off 54 balls and after that, Abhishek Sharma came up with an even better performance with the bat.
The left-hander slammed a brutal half-century as well in just 16 balls and ended with an inning of 63 runs off 23 balls. He made sure that Mumbai Indians bowlers had no answers to the carnage at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
After that, Heinrich Klaasen (80*) and Aiden Markram (42*) made sure that they took the game completely out of the hands of the Mumbai Indians. They added an unbeaten 116-run partnership and took their team to the highest total in IPL. They ended with 277 runs on the board.
Rohit Sharma (26) and Ishan Kishan (34) took Mumbai Indians off the flyer in the big chase. The duo added 56 runs for the opening stand and provided a great platform to the team. After that, Naman Dhir (30) and Tilak Varma (64) played magnificently well.
The youngsters kept Mumbai Indians in the game and made sure that their score runs at a run rate of around 14. After Tilak got out, things got tough for the Hardik Pandya-led side as they couldn’t score runs freely. Tim David (42*) tried his best but it was an uphill task as Mumbai lost the game by 31 runs.

Chennai Super Kings retained the top spot in the IPL 2024 points table after SRH vs MI match 8 along with Rajasthan Royals at the the second spot. Sunrisers Hyderabad after the win jumped to the third spot whereas Kolkata Knight Riders were pushed down to 4th. Punjab Kings are at 5th spot followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans. The rest of the teams are yet to register to win.

The purple Cap charts in the IPL 2024 after CSK vs GT Match 7 remained unchanged. Mustafizur Rahman extended his lead at the top with 6 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah, Harpreet Brar, and Kagiso Rabada share three wickets. T Natarajan takes the 5th spot respectively.
