Watch: Trent Boult congratulates centurion Sunil Narine after castling him with a yorker

Sunil Narine, on Tuesday (April 16), starred with the bat, scoring a sensational century to put Kolkata Knight Riders in the driver's seat in the ongoing game against Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens.

Opening the innings, he scored 109 runs off 56 balls. It is his first-ever T20 century. Sunil Narine became just the third KKR player after Brendon McCullum and Venkatesh Iyer to score a century for the franchise. His stunning knock was studded with 13 fours and six sixes.

Sunil Narine's memorable knock finally came to an end in the 18th over when he was clean-bowled by Trent Boult. It was a yorker from the RR pace spearhead and Sunil Narine cleared his front leg in order to play a big shot. However, he could not make any contact and the ball went on to hit the stumps.

It was followed by a heartwarming moment. As Sunil Narine was walking back towards the dressing room after being dismissed, Trent Boult made sure to congratulate him for the century.

Sunil Narine's stunning run with the bat:

Sunil Narine has been on a roll with the bat in the ongoing IPL. While his hard-hitting skills were never in doubt, the West Indies star has left many mighty impressed with his consistency with the bat so far. He started his campaign in IPL 2024 with a 2-run knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad but has made amends for it in style.

After the failure with the bat against SRH, he bounced back by scoring 47, 85, and 27 in the following three games. In the last match against Lucknow Super Giants, the southpaw was out for just 6 but has bounced back in style once again by scoring his first-ever T20 ton.

As of now, he is KKR's leading run-scorer in the ongoing edition. In six games so far, he has scored 276 runs at an average of 46. He is also the first KKR batsman to reach the 250-run mark this season. Overall, he is the third leading run-scorer in IPL 2024.
