The Mumbai Indians (MI) have enlisted England pacer Jofra Archer for a special interaction ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. During the conversation, England’s pace ace Archer singled out Indian speed merchant Jasprit Bumrah. In the pink-ball Test match between India and Sri Lanka at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bumrah equalled Kapil Dev’s record.

While watching the second Test between India and Sri Lanka, England pacer Jofra Archer was seen on camera cheering on his Mumbai Indians teammate Jasprit Bumrah.

Bumrah went on to take his first five-wicket haul with the bat in Sri Lanka’s first innings, helping India to a 143-run advantage.

Jofra Archer has purchased for INR 8 crore at last month’s super auction by Mumbai Indians. Fans of the Mumbai franchise have been longing for the Bumrah-Archer pair to bowl together in the IPL since then.

They may have to wait until next year, as Jofra Archer is expected to miss the IPL 2022 season due to fitness concerns.

Bumrah gets praised by Jofra Archer for his five-wicket haul:

In his 29th Test outing for India, Bumrah, Archer’s colleague, grabbed his eighth five-wicket haul. After 29 Test matches for Team India, Bumrah equaled Kapil Dev’s Test record for five-wicket hauls. India has taken control of the pink-ball Test match in Bangalore thanks to Bumrah’s bowling heroics.

Despite the fact that Archer has joined the Mumbai Indians team, he is unlikely to make his MI debut in the league’s 15th season. Despite his inability to play in the 2022 edition of the world’s richest league, Mumbai Indians had secured the services of the 2019 World Cup winner. In IPL 2023, Archer is anticipated to team up with Bumrah at the Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai Indians will compete in Group A in the IPL 2022 league stage, with Delhi Capitals (DC), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Lucknow Supergiant’s (LSG).

The Mumbai Indians, the five-time winners, will kick off their IPL 2022 campaign on March 27 at Brabourne – CCI Stadium in Mumbai against the Delhi Capitals.
