After winning the toss in the third and the final T20I, India captain, Rohit Sharma decided to bowl first, a decision which seemed to be correct. Sri Lanka were pushed out of the game right from the start of the game. They lost early wickets, failed to capitalise on partnerships which were provided and could just post 135 runs on the board.

It was the debutant Washington Sundar who opened the bowling for the side. He just gave six runs in his first over in T20I cricket and soon got his first wicket as well in the second over he bowled.

The number continued to increase in Sri Lanka’s wicket columns as Jaydev Unadkat, after taking a wicket in his first over, took another one in the fourth over of the game.

Sri Lanka were left down with a score of 18-3 at one stage. Sadeera Samarawickrama and Asela Gunaratne then took over the charge and shared 38 runs for the first wicket to pull out their side out of the tough situation.

Sri Lanka again lost three wickets in a matter of few overs but Gunaratne and Dasun Shanaka 26 runs for the seventh wicket to again increase team India’s wait.

At the end, Sri Lanka posted a total of 135 on the board. It should be an easy chase for the home side. A win here would mean that India will whitewash Sri Lanka in the T20I series.
