For the Black Caps, Lockie Ferguson bagged three wickets in his quota of ten overs giving away 39 runs. Fast bowler Tim Southee and leg-spinner Todd Astle pocketed two wickets each, as Trent Boult and left-arm orthodox spinner Mitchell Santer settled with wicket apiece.

New Zealand’s Martin Guptill and Ross Taylor saw their team home after the target was revised to 151 runs in 25 overs.  Guptill struck five sixes, and five boundaries on his way to scoring 86 runs off just 71-ball knock at the strike-rate of 121.13.

However, young Shadab Khan admitted that they availed to cash in on chances which caused them the match.

“We got a chance but we failed to avail it, as New Zealand played well. We also committed a few mistakes in the middle as well,” Shadab stated.
