New Zealand's Devon Conway Climbs To 5th Position In The Latest ICC T20I Player Rankings

The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the latest ICC Men’s Player Rankings on Wednesday, October 12, and the New Zealand National Cricket Team star batter Devon Conway has entered the top 5 of the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings.

The 31-year-old has been in terrific form lately and has been contributing good runs with the bat in the ongoing tri-series involving New Zealand, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Conway, who is the leading run-getter in the ongoing T20I tri-series in New Zealand, has registered scores of 36, 70*, 49* and 64 in 4 games.

Conway’s brilliant efforts have helped him leapfrog Aaron Finch and Dawid Malan and make it to the top five with 760 rating points.

The No.1 ranked batter in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings is Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan with 853 rating points. Following him on the list are Suryakumar Yadav, Babar Azam and Aiden Markram.

Meanwhile, England pacers Mark Wood and Reece Topley made big jumps in the ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings. Now, Reece is in the 11th spot and Wood is in the 18th position.

Shikhar Dhawan Drops To 17th In ODI Rankings

Veteran India National Cricket Team opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan, who recently led India to a 2-1 ODI series win over South Africa National Cricket Team at home, has dropped down six places to No.17 in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings. The veteran left-handed opener registered scores of 4, 13 and 8 in three ODIs.

Among Indians, only Virat Kohli, who is at the No.7 spot and Rohit Sharma, who is at the No.8 position, are ahead of Dhawan in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings.

Meanwhile, South Africa National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock’s poor form saw him drop down by one place, helping Pakistan National Cricket Team batter Imam ul Haq jump to No.2.

Also, Shreyas Iyer, Heinrich Klaasen and Sanju Samson made significant improvements in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings. Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who finished as the leading wicket-taker in the ODI series against South Africa, gained seven places to get into the top 25.
