ICC World Cup 2021

The 2021 T20 World Cup was played form 17 October to 14 November 2021 in the United Arab Emirates and Oman. It was the seventh edition of the T20 World Cup. Originally, the tournament was to be played in Australia in 2020. However, it was postponed by the ICC due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Later, the ICC announced that the seventh edition of the tournament will be hosted by India while Australia were given the hosting rights for the 2022 edition. The venue was then shifted to the UAE and Oman due to growing concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic situation in India.

After the Super 12 stage, four teams - New Zealand, Pakistan, Australia and England - qualified for the semifinals. In the semifinal, New Zealand beat England while Australia beat Pakistan to set up a Trans-Tasman final. New Zealand qualified the final for the first time while Australia did it for the second time. In the final, Australia beat New Zealand by eight wickets to win their first T20 World Cup.

ICC T20 World Cup 2021 Venue:

The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 was played in the UAE and Oman. The tournament was played across four venues: the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, and the Oman Cricket Academy Ground.

ICC T20 World Cup 2021 Team list:

A total of 16 teams qualified for the 2021 T20 World Cup. Of those, eight teams qualified directly for the Super 12s while eight others were divided into two groups and they had to play the other teams of the same group once.

The eight teams who had to play a qualifying round for the Super 12 stage were - Sri Lanka, Namibia, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Bangladesh, Oman and Papua New Guinea. On the other hand, the eight teams that qualified directly for the Super 12s were - India, Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, South Africa, Afghanistan, England and West Indies.
