Sharjah will host the AFG vs IRE 2nd ODI with Afghanistan having their backs to the wall. The second T20I starts at 9.30- pm IST on Sunday, March 17, with the Afghans needing to win both games to win the series.

The inability of their batters to not chase down a modest total speaks a lot about their inconsistency with the bat. 

A few players from both teams will head into IPL 2024 straightaway after the end of the T20I series. Their T20 World Cup preparations have already kickstarted with this series and will continue till the end of the IPL season. Rashid Khan is back to lead the Afghanistan T20I side after recovering from his lower back surgery.

Paul Stirling is the new Ireland white-ball skipper. He has found the going tough in the series so far with just 55 runs in the ODI series. He scored 25 in the first T20I.
