Chattogram is all set to host the BAN vs SL three-match ODI series. The first ODI will be played on March 13 from 1.30 pm IST. Sri Lanka won the T20I series 2-1 which was played in Sylhet.

Sri Lanka will be led by Kusal Mendis in the ODI series. He won his first ODI series as captain against Afghanistan. Sri Lanka swept Afghanistan in the ODI series and won the T20I series 2-1. 

Najmul Hossain Shanto will continue to lead Bangladesh in the ODI series after Shakib Al Hasan is not available still for the national team. He missed the T20I series as well Bangladesh lost. Also missing is Tamim Iqbal who has not played international cricket since the ODI World Cup.

The two teams have played 54 ODI matches with Sri Lanka winning 42 matches and Bangladesh 10. In the last five games, Bangladesh have won three including the ODI World Cup game in Delhi. In recent times, both teams have played closely contested games in white-ball formats. 

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are placed seventh and eighth in the ICC ODI rankings ahead of the start of the series. Bangladesh after losing the T20I series would want to win the ODI series on home soil. The ODI series will be followed by a two-match Test series as well.
