The wicketkeeper-batter Ben Foakes feels that the final day of the Nottingham Test between Ben Stokes-led England and Tom Latham-led New Zealand will be a thrilling contest as all three results are in play.

The second Test of the three-match Test series between England and New Zealand is being played at the Trent Bridge, Nottingham. England are currently having a 1-0 lead in the series, having won the first Test at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.

In the second Test match, England won the toss and opted to bowl first. The decision didn’t really favour the side as the bowlers struggled against the Kiwis. New Zealand were able to score 553/10 runs with the help of Daryl Mitchell’s 190 and Tom Blundell’s 106.

At Stumps on Day 4, New Zealand were at 224/7 with the help of Devon Conway’s half-century and other batters’ good contributions. They were leading by 238 runs with Daryl Mitchell still out in middle.

Meanwhile, England wicketkeeper-batsman Ben Foakes, after the day’s play, was asked about the potential target to which he replied by saying that anything under 300 could be “quite doable”. He elaborated:

“I think as little as possible. Realistically how fast it’s been scoring, under 300 you’d say would be quite doable if you bat really well.

“Some of the guys we’ve got in the dressing room, guys like Stokesy, it could be anything really. You have no idea really if he gets in. So much has happened this afternoon that now all three results are in play. It should be one hell of a day.”
