Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan feels that Harry Brook should have been part of the England squad for the ICC World Cup 2023. According to Vaughan, Harry Brook should have replaced Jason Roy in England squad.

England has named their preliminary squad for ICC World Cup 2023. Harry Brook is not part of the 15-member list, Brook is an emerging player in the England team who has slammed many incredible knocks in international games. His ouster from World Cup has come as a big shock for many.

Harry Brook Is Such A High-Class Player: Michael Vaughan

While speaking on BBC, former England all-rounder Michael Vaughan said that Harry Brook is a high-class player. He also feels that the right-handed batsman should be picked over Jason Roy in ICC World Cup 2023 squad.

“Harry Brook not being in that squad is remarkable. I know he’s only played three one-day games but I just think he is such a high-class player. Jason Roy did well in Bangladesh and scored a hundred, but if I was brutal Brook would come in for Jason Roy,” the cricketer-turned-commentator said.

Vaughan also added that Harry Brook is a special talent. Since the youngster can play spin and seam well, he should be part of the England squad for the ICC World Cup 2023.

“You can argue that Harry Brook not being in the squad tells you how strong England are. Sometimes in sport, special talents come along and Brook has got that gift.

Whatever format he’s playing, I just think he’s such a wonderful player against seam or spin. If I were a betting man, I’d say he will be in India in October – and I don’t think it’ll be on holiday,” the 48-year-old further added.
