IPL 2021 takes a countdown as the cricket tournament is all set to entertain fans from next month. The tournament will kickstart with the first match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 9, 2021. Six venues will host all the IPL matches while the playoffs games and final will be played at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmadabad.

Eight teams Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and Delhi Capitals will engage in nail-biting matches in IPL 2021.

Harbhajan Singh is the 5th highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League. In 157 innings, Harbhajan has grabbed 150 wickets. The right-arm spinner has an economy of 7.05 in IPL. His best bowling figure in IPL is 5/18. Harbhajan Singh played for Mumbai Indians from IPL 2008 to 2017. From IPL 2018 and IPL 2019, he played for Chennai Super Kings. He did not play in IPL 2020. Ahead of IPL 2021 auction, Harbhajan Singh was released by Chennai Super Kings. During the auction, he was picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs. 2 crore.

Dwayne Bravo

Dwayne Bravo is the 4th highest wicket-taker in IPL. In 137 innings, Bravo has taken 153 wickets. Bravo, who plays for Chennai Super Kings, has an economy of 8.4. His best bowling figure in IPL is 4/22. Bravo won the purple cap in IPL 2013 and IPL 2015 after he finished with the most wickets in both tournaments. In IPL 2013, Bravo accounted for 32 wickets while in IPL 2015, Bravo took 26 wickets. The West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo played for Mumbai Indians from IPL 2008 to IPL 2010. He plays for Chennai Super Kings since IPL 2011. In IPL 2016, Bravo played for Gujarat Lions as CSK was banned from playing in IPL for two seasons.

Piyush Chawla is the 3rd highest wicket-taker in IPL. In 163 innings, Piyush Chawla has scalped 156 wickets. Chawla, a left-arm spinner, has an economy of 7.87 in the Indian Premier League. His best bowling figure in the tournament is 4/17. Piyush Chawla played for Kings XI Punjab (Punjab Kings) from IPL 2008 to IPL 2013.

From IPL 2014 to IPL 2019, Chawla represented Kolkata Knight Riders. He moved to Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2020 and was dropped by the team ahead of IPL 2021 auction. Chawla was picked up by Mumbai Indians for Rs. 2.4 crore in IPL 2021 auction.

Amit Mishra is the 2nd highest wicket-taker in IPL with 160 wickets in 150 innings. The Indian spinner has an economy of 7.34 in IPL. Amit Mishra’s best bowling figure in IPL is 5/17. Amit Mishra played for Delhi Capitals from IPL 2008 to IPL 2010. He later moved to Deccan Chargers from IPL 2011 to IPL 2012. In IPL 2013 and IPL 2014, Piyush Chawla was part of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Since IPL 2015, Piyush Chawla has been part of the Delhi Capitals.

Lasith Malinga

Lasith Malinga is the highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League.  In 122 innings, he has grabbed 170 wickets. Malinga’s best bowling figure in IPL is 5/13 and has an economy of 7.14. Lasith Malinga was the highest wicket-taker in IPL 2011 with 28 wickets and won the purple cap in the tournament. From IPL 2008 to IPL 2020, Lasith Malinga has played for Mumbai Indians. He was released by Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2021 auction.
