IPL 2021: Aakash Chopra Explains The Factors That Had Taken CSK Into The Finals, Highlights Each Player's Contribution

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra revealed the factors and role of the players in the side that had taken CSK into the finals of the IPL 2021 against KKR. CSK has been the most dominant side in the IPL 2021, and after suffering three continuous losses towards the end of the season, they managed to win the encounter in qualifier 1 against Delhi and have progressed to the finals.

However, their bowling hasn’t completely been good, and they do have some batting woes in the middle order. Their combination and balance look great at the moment with two all-rounders in the side, and they will be looking at continuing with their side in the finals.

Aakash Chopra Feels CSK Have Gone From Strength To Strength

Aakash Chopra mentioned that CSK has played above their expectations and reckoned that they adjusted well to the conditions of Wakhede in the first phase of IPL 2021. He also added about CSK going from strength to strength and reckoned that the CSK middle order hasn’t fired, with the top order scoring most of the runs.

 “Well, few things have gone their way and they have exceeded expectations, because in the first leg when they were playing in Wankhede stadium and I thought they didn’t have the side to conquer that frontier,”

“They were extraordinary there and they have gone from strength to strength. Because the middle order hasn’t fired so the opening partnership of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf Du Plessis,” Aakash Chopra told on Star Sports chat show connected.

Aakash Chopra mentioned that Moeen was superb in the first phase of IPL 2021 and noted Ravindra Jadeja’s improvement as a finisher on the side. He mentioned Shardul Thakur‘s role as someone who goes unnoticed and added that he can certainly make a big difference on the side with his presence.

“Moeen Ali in the first half of the tournament with the bat, Ravindra Jadeja’s resurgence as a T20 finisher – he did finish a couple of games on his own. Also, a lot of factors has also contributed,”

“Lord Shardul, let’s not forget him, if they have the Lord in their side, then the light of the Lord is with them,” he added.

CSK will be aiming for their fourth IPL title this year against the KKR side in the finals.
