The IPL 2024 auction is set to take place on December 19 in Dubai. Lucknow Super Giants, who have showcased a stunning show in the last two seasons, will aim to settle their minor issues during the mini-auction. LSG was a lethal team in the last two seasons. They reached the playoffs in both seasons but failed to win the Eliminator clash.

Lucknow Super Giants has released 8 players from their squad ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. After retaining 19 players, the KL Rahul-led side has vacant slots for 6 players. 5. Mujeeb Ur Rahman

If we take a glance at the LSG squad, they have only one powerful spinner in the form of Ravi Bishnoi. Amit Mishra and Krunal Pandya are also part of the list. However, while Mishra is a veteran, Pandya is a spin all-rounder.

Ekana Cricket Stadium is a spin-friendly ground and spinners are a valuable part of the team. Hence, LSG can target Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the IPL 2024 auction. The Afghan spinner gave a wonderful performance in the ICC World Cup 2023.

4. Wanindu Hasaranga

Wanindu Hasaranga can be another powerful spinner LSG can target in the IPL 2024 auction. Hasaranga was part of Royal Challengers Bangalore but has been released by the franchise. The Sri Lanka spinner is one of the most powerful spinners in international cricket. He is also a strong tailender batsman and hence, he will add strength to the team.

3. Rovman Powell

LSG picked Devdutt Padikkal from Rajasthan Royals as a trade. Hence, it is clear that the team is looking to add might to their middle order. Rovman Powell can be a powerful option as a middle-order batsman. He was part of the Delhi Capitals but was released by the team ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. Powell is a powerful hitter.

2. Daryl Mitchell

Another middle-order batter LSG can look out for during the IPL 2024 auction is Daryl Mitchell. The Kiwi batter slammed centuries against India in both matches during the ICC World Cup 2023. With 497 runs at an average of 69+ across 10 games, he was an impressive middle-order batter during the tournament.

1. Shakib Al Hasan

If LSG needs to settle their spin and middle-order woes together, who can be a better option than Shakib Al Hasan? The Bangladesh skipper has been part of several seasons of IPL. He is a left-arm spinner and a middle-order batsman.

Hasan is also one of the best spin all-rounders in international cricket. Since LSG has fewer funds available, they might go after Hasan as most franchises won’t be that interested.
