The 15th edition of Indian Premier League, IPL 2022, is set to begin soon. Chennai Super Kings will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening game of the 2022 season. The match will take place on March 26 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Since every team has only 20 overs to bat in Indian Premier League, batsmen often smash quickfire knocks in matches. 5. Ishan Kishan- 16 Balls

Ishan Kishan takes the 5th spot on this list. In IPL 2021, the left-handed batsman slammed a quickfire half-century off just 16 deliveries. The MI wicketkeeper Kishan smacked the knock in a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Till the end, Kishan slammed 84 runs off 32 balls. He hit 11 fours and 4 sixes during his knock, taking the team’s score to 235-9. Later, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 193-8 in the 2nd innings and lost the match by 42 runs.

4. Suresh Raina- 16 Balls

During the Qualifier 2 encounter against Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2014, Chennai Super Kings batter Suresh Raina slammed a half-century off just 16 balls. Punjab posted a mammoth total of 226-6 batting first.

Later, Suresh Raina played a quickfire knock of 87 runs off 25 balls, smashing 12 fours and 6 sixes in the process. However, his team CSK ended on the losing side by 24 runs in the match.

3. Sunil Narine- 15 Balls

Sunil Narine gets the 3rd spot on this list. The left-handed batter slammed a half-century off just 15 balls in the 2017 season. While playing for Kolkata Knight Riders against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Narine smashed 54 runs off 17 balls in the match.

He hit 6 fours and 4 sixes during his knock. With Narine’s fabulous batting show, Kolkata Knight Riders managed to chase the target of 159 runs and won the match by 6 wickets.

2. Yusuf Pathan- 15 Balls

Yusuf Pathan grabs the 2nd spot on this list. He knocked a half-century off just 15 balls in IPL 2014. Yusuf Pathan was part of Kolkata Knight Riders in the season. He slammed 72 runs off 22 balls during his innings, hitting 5 fours and 7 sixes.

Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 160-7 in the 1st innings. With Pathan’s quickfire knock, Kolkata Knight Riders managed to clinch victory in the match by 4 wickets.

1. KL Rahul- 14 Balls

KL Rahul takes the top spot on this list. While playing for Punjab Kings in the 2018 season, KL Rahul smacked a fifty off just 14 balls. This is the fastest fifty in the Indian Premier League so far.

In the match, Punjab Kings was chasing a target of 167 in the match, set by Delhi Daredevils. KL Rahul slammed 51 runs off 16 balls before losing his wicket, hitting 6 fours and 4 sixes in the match. In the end, Punjab Kings managed to win the match by 6 wickets.
