Cricket Match IPL 2022 News
The fifteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), a professional Twenty20 cricket league founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007, was known as the TATA IPL 2022 or IPL 15 for sponsorship reasons. The IPL 2022 took place between March 26, 2022, and May 29, 2022. The whole state of Maharashtra hosted matches for the Cricket IPL 2022 group stage, which included Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Pune.
Two new franchises were added to the league during the IPL 2022 Cricket, marking its expansion. The reigning champions, Chennai Super Kings, had taken home their fourth championship in the previous campaign. Gujarat Titans won their first championship in their inaugural season, defeating Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in the Cricket Match IPL 2022 championship match.
Following the addition of the new teams, a ten-team schedule comprising 74 matches—14 for each team—was developed based on the minor opponent rule. The ten teams were split up into two five-person groups. According to BCCI, each team will play twice in the group stage against the teams in their group and the team in the opposite group; however, each team will only play once against the other four teams in the group. The structure is the same as in 2011, except in 2022, rather than grouping the teams at random, they were divided into groups based on seeding.
