Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor Gautam Gambhir was at his furious best during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game against Punjab Kings (PBKS). The 42nd game of the tournament between the teams is taking place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Kolkata Knight Riders have been at their exceptional best with the bat in the ongoing game against Punjab Kings. The home team have brought up their brutal best with the bat and has made sure that they put the opposition under pressure at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

It has been raining fours and sixes in Kolkata as the Shreyas Iyer-led side has been breathing fire with the bat. Amid all this there was a moment of seriousness as well which made even Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Gautam Gambhir get angry after his team didn't get the run.

During the last ball of the 14th over, Rahul Chahar bowled a short delivery outside off. Andre Russell cut to cover, where Ashutosh Sharma made the stop. He threw the ball wide of Jitesh Sharma and the batters seized an opportunity to get  a run and sealed the single.

However, umpire Anil Chaudhary denied the Kolkata Knight Riders single. The official stated that the ball was dead when the batters took the single and hence the run wasn't counted. This made KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir furious as he stood from his seat and went on to have a chat with an umpire on the sidelines.

Here's the video:

Coming to the match, Kolkata Knight Riders posted a gigantic total of runs on the board. Sunil Narine (71) and Phil Salt (75) did carnage at the top with the bat with their 138-run partnership. They set the tone for the team and made sure that they outplayed Punjab Kings out of the game.

However, after that, Venkatesh Iyer (39), Andre Russell (24) and skipper Shreyas Iyer (28) played brutal innings with the bat.
