New Zealand take on Sri Lanka in match 41 of the ICC World Cup 2023 in Bengaluru. The match starts at 2 p.m. with the Kiwis facing a must-win situation. They lost their previous game against Pakistan in Bengaluru.

The loss to Pakistan in the previous game has meant that their last game against Sri Lanka is a must-win if they are to make the semi-final. A win will secure a place in the semi-final. The Kiwis lost to Pakistan despite scoring over 400 runs in the game against Pakistan.

New Zealand won their first four games and then got into a losing streak since their loss against India. They lost closely to Australia and were, unfortunately, to lose on the DLS method against the Men in Green.

The two teams have played over 100 ODIs with New Zealand winning 51 games and Sri Lanka winning 41 games. However, in World Cup matches, Sri Lanka are ahead of than Kiwis on the head-to-head count.

The Kiwis scored over 400 ruins in the match against Bengaluru in the last game. They should target something similar against a depleted Sri Lankan bowling attack.
