Shivam Dube has well and truly jinxed it. The Chennai Super Kings all-rounder, following his selection in India's 15-man squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, has registered his second consecutive duck post his selection.

It seems as if the trend of putting up a poor performance after being picked for the T20 World Cup has become a trend. During Chennai's ongoing reverse fixture clash against the Punjab Kings in Dharamshala, Shivam Dube left the crease for a first-ball duck. He met the same fate as he had during the previous match against Punjab.

4 days ago in Chepauk, it was Harpreet Brar who caught his leg before wicket and today another leg-spinner Rahul Chahar got rid of Shivam Dube. Chahar bowled a flighted delivery, full and outside off which flew off the deck.

Shivam Dube had hung back and wanted to free his arms but he ended up getting a thin outside edge which Jitesh Sharma caught sharply behind the stumps.

If he goes to USA and West Indies with the same kind of form in the T20 World Cup, then it will be a very bad news for team India. After all he was entrusted to play a key role in the middle-order for which Kolkata Knight Riders' Rinku Singh was snubbed from the squad.

Before these two golden ducks, Shivam Dube had done well for the Chennai Super Kings. He had scored 350 runs from 11 matches at a 170.73 strike rate at a 40+ average with a best of 66*. He has also amassed 3 half-centuries on the way.

On his poor performance yet again, here are some of the best X reactions:
