Whenever A Person Becomes A Superstar In India, Lot Of Investment Is Made On Them - Shoaib Akhtar On Rishabh Pant

Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar advised Rishabh Pant to focus on his weight as he is set to become the next big thing in Indian cricket following his performance against England recently.

Pant smashed his maiden ODI hundred to help India chase down 260 in the deciding ODI. With that, the Indian team registered a 2-1 series victory in ODIs against the World Champions.

“Rishabh Pant is a fearless cricketer. He has the cut shot, pull shot, reverse sweep, slog sweep and paddle sweep. He won the (Test) match in Australia, he won the match here (in England) and took India to a series victory single-handedly.”

“He is a little overweight. I hope he takes care of that. Because the Indian market is big. He’s good-looking. He can emerge as a model, earn in crores. Because whenever a person becomes a superstar in India, a lot of investment is made on them,” Akhtar told on his YouTube channel.

Speaking about Hardik Pandya, Akhtar asserted the biggest change in Hardik is his commitment to fitness. This became possible after he was dropped from the Indian team and it turned out to be a reality check for the all-rounder.

“I was happy to see Hardik Pandya perform as a bowler as he brings an incredible balance to the team. I am also delighted that he has become serious about his fitness. He got a good shock when he was out of the team for 1-2 years as he was a bit unfit casual.”

“He seems to enjoy his life on the field. He should not enjoy much off the field as he is a rare talent. He is a great fielder, a great bowler, actually, he is a great addition to the pace battery. He outshone other bowlers and I would advice him to remain focused on his game,” Akhtar added.
