Ajinkya Rahane, who is currently out of the Indian National Cricket team’s ODI squad admitted that it is always a special feeling to wear the India jersey. Meanwhile, the sporting apparel giants, Nike on yesterday launched Indian National Cricket team new jersey for the upcoming ICC World Cup in England and Wales starting from May 30. Meanwhile, India will begin their campaign on June 5 against South Africa.

However, Rahane, who last played for India in an ODI in South Africa in February last year, was not picked in the any of the limited-overs squads to face Australia at home. The ongoing series against Australia is India’s final international assignment before the World Cup. However, Ajinkya Rahane is hopeful for a World Cup spot despite time running away from him. The Mumbai batsman said it is important to believe yourself and keep good people around you.

I am very much hopeful. Like I said, I keep negative thoughts away and you never know, things can change any time. It’s important to believe in yourself and keep good people around you,” Rahane told Sportstar.

But his T20 form in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, India’s premier domestic T20 tournament, has been below par. In four matches in the T20 tournament so far, Rahane has aggregated only 43 runs.

The Test vice-captain was present at the launch of the new jersey. Following the event, Ajinkya Rahane took to Twitter express his feeling. The stylish batsman noted that although the jersey is new the feeling remains the same.

The jersey may be new but the feeling isn’t. Always a special feeling to wear the India colours. #NewJersey #MenInBlue,” Ajinkya Rahane tweeted.
