Former IPL-winning head coach with Sunrisers Hyderabad Tom Moody has ruled out the possibility of dropping Aiden Markram from their playing XI.

Tom Moody along with former RCB pacer Varun Aaron were discussing about match number 41 between SRH and RCB last night at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium. The duo had appeared in ESPNcricinfo's Timeout show and therein they dissected all the action that unfolded yesterday.

Varun Aaron says Aiden Markram could be dropped at the back end of the season

The host of the show asked if SRH could bring in Anmolpreet Singh into the playing XI at the expense of Aiden Markram, who is currently struggling to get runs.

In his response, Varun Aaron stated that he doesn't really think a scenario of that sort can happen because Hyderabad are on a roll at the moment. Since SRH have a positive momentum at the moment and the fact that they are serious play-offs and title contenders, Aiden Markram will not be dropped. And that not only Markram but none of the players in the team will get dropped.

Aaron also stated that Markram is the kind of a batter who can act like a glue to their firing top and middle order and thus his chances of getting dropped are less.

"Look the way SRH is going, I think they want to keep their winning combination intact and not move around too many pieces because they would want to continue this momentum into the playoffs considering they are going to be serious playoff contenders."

"So I don't see Glenn Phillips coming in at this stage or anybody else coming at this stage when they are on a hot streak like this. Yes they lost today but they will persist a little longer because he can be a glue to their completely firing top order," Varun Aaron said via ESPNcricinfo Timeout show.

Another panelist in the show then asked if Glenn Phillips could be given a chance in the coming matches just in case the SRH needs the Kiwi.

Varun Aaron then backtracked a little and claimed that Phillips might get a chance only if SRH qualify for the playoffs early and give him some game time at the back end. "I mean if they qualify early, maybe they can do that but they still haven't qualified so maybe," Aaron added.

Tom Moody says he doesn't buy this philosophy

The former SRH head coach claimed that he doesn't really buy into this philosophy of dropping a player to facilitate another one at this juncture of the competition. Tom Moody claimed that if SRH doesn't replace Aiden Markram with Glenn Phillips then there are chances of creating uncertainty between those two players and that might also disrupt the team balance.

"I don't buy into that philosophy. Because you give a player a couple of games because you might need him. Well, what happens to the player you're leaving out and then you've got to make that change again. So you're disrupting the whole playing balance and you're creating uncertainty around two players," Tom Moody concluded.
