Ashes 2017/18: Kevin Pietersen Tweets As England Make Fantastic Recovery in the Second Test

England have been set a target of 354 in the fourth innings in the second courtesy a brilliant display of fast bowling by the England bowlers in the second innings as they dismissed the hosts for a mere 138 runs. England was bowled out for just 227 in their first innings which gave the Australians a lead of 215 runs.

James Anderson picked up five wickets in the second innings and was equally partnered by Chris Woakes who picked up four wickets for the tourists. Craig Overton was the other wicket-taker for England who picked up the wicket of Josh Hazelwood. For Australia, Usman Khawaja and Mitchell Starc were the top scorers as they both scored 20 and fell prey to the same bowler, James Anderson.

Former Cricketers and pundits credited the efforts of the English fast bowlers as they got their team back into the game. Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen who is currently commentating in the Ashes Tweeted after the Australians were bowled out and wrote, “Aussies 130 ao! Even if ENG lose this Test, The Ashes isn’t over. Pitch the ball up to this Aus lineup & you can bowl them out cheaply! England’s issue – BATTING! #Ashes

England is currently 54/2 with James Vince and Joe Root at the crease.
