Of late, it has become a regular thing in the world cricket that a certain player being rested or being rotated in order to see him fit for the series against top-class sides. Though it is a tactical thing, Adam Gilchrist doesn’t want it to be the same for Australia, especially, in the current situation.

The former Australian wicketkeeping-batsman Adam Gilchrist wants Australia to write their best possible squad on the paper for every game. He doesn’t want to see Australia losing any game with the impact player being rested.

The focus should be on the next game – Adam Gilchrist

Gilchrist, furtherly, quoted that Australia should pick their best squad against depleted Sri Lankan side as well. He doesn’t want to tour England for Ashes with two series loss against sub-continent teams, especially, at home.

During the course, he feels that having a stable squad will also help players learning their roles and prepare for that. Adam wants the selectors to trust the players and give him the decent run at the very same position.

“I’d like to win the next Test match and focus on that,” Gilchrist was quoted as saying by Foxsports.com.au on Monday. “There is always an over-arching view about the future of the game. I think that’s an area over the past five or six years around the whole high-performance area: A desire to focus on the marquee series’ and not the small ones,” Adam Gilchrist quoted in a Follow-on Podcast.

”That way you can take your eye off the real development part of players’ game and learning day in, day out Test cricket. Resting, rotating or whatever you want to call it. Just pick the best team for every game possible and get that cultural feeling right. You have to beat Sri Lanka too. You can’t go to the Ashes having lost two home series to sub-continental teams. You’ve got to keep all of that in perspective,” he added.

Well, as Adam Gilchrist said, Cricket Australia needs to give enough run for the players to settle in the side. In most of the cases, Australian management is worrying about the major series rather than concentrating on the present.
