Well, the bad luck is following like a hutch dog to Ajinkya Rahane. Yet again he got a splendid delivery to walk back to the pavilion by bagging a cheap score to his name. It was a brilliant delivery from Mitchell Starc, which would have taken out any batsmen in the world cricket.

The incident took place in the 71st over of the game when Mitchell Starc was asked to rattle Indian middle-order. He bowled it short of good length and got the extreme bounce from it, which kissed the glove of Ajinkya Rahane before falling safely in the hands of Tim Paine.

Without any hesitation, umpire declared it out while Ajinkya Rahane was also quick in walking back to the hut. For a moment, the delivery reminisced the old Mitchell Starc, who used to deliver those on a regular basis.

As it happened:

Coming to the Day 1 play, it was India, who was on top of the game at the conclusion of an initial couple of sessions. Earlier, it was Virat Kohli, who won the toss and asked the home side to bowl first.

The comeback of KL Rahul yet again showed a poor result, as he walked back for a single digit. Unfortunately, once again,  he succumbed to Josh Hazlewood. Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal, yet again, impressed one and all.

He knocked a brilliant 77 to his name before being dismissed to Nathan Lyon. However, on the other end, Cheteshwar Pujara showed his class to knock the third century of the series. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli failed to showcase his class.

All in all, it was a decent day of cricket for India at Sydney Cricket Grounds. They made a couple of changes by bringing in KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav into the mix.
