Escaping the scare, Aaron Finch all set to lead Australian team in the first ODI against South Africa on Sunday. The flamboyant cricketer has been named as the skipper of the team for the South African series by replacing Tim Paine. Meanwhile, he got an injury to his finger thus raising concerns on his participation in the first ODI.

However, the latest reports surfaced that Aaron Finch passed the fitness test and is all set to lead Australia in 1st ODI. The skipper himself takes time to reveal it to the official website of Cricket Australia.

Building Partnerships is key for the success – Aaron Finch

Speaking to the reports, Aaron Finch quoted that they are working on building partnerships for the 50-over format of the game. Further, he also cited that the unit is putting their hard work in the net session to make the things happen.

Coming to his injury, Finch added that he got hurt on the same finger twice during the session. During the course, he also made fun of his Doctors, who are more concerned than himself.

“It’s all good, it was just a precautionary x-ray. I got hit on it yesterday and then again today and it swelled up. It was quite painful there for a little bit. Anytime you get hit by a big quick it hurts, but I think the doctor was a bit more concerned than I was,” Aaron Finch quoted.

“I think that when you have a bit of change in the side, it’s about starting to build a really good dynamic and a really good chemistry within that side. We’ve been trying new things, we’ve been out in the nets for hours. You can’t question it from that point of view. It’s just about making sure that we start to build partnerships again.”

However, Cricket Australia will take a sigh of relief from the latest reports. Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see how Aaron Finch will lead the team against the South African side.
