Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 2018: 2nd Test - Twitter Erupts as Bangladesh Finishes The Series on Level Terms
Updated - 15 Nov 2018, 04:10 PM
Bangladesh made a stunning comeback to beat Zimbabwe comprehensively by 218 runs at Dhaka, after suffering a 151-run loss at Sylhet to finish the series at even stevens.
Meanwhile, Mominul Haque (161) and Mushfiqur Rahim (219*) set it up for Bangladesh in the first innings, and Zimbabwe were never going to get back into the game. However, they fought hard, but the task was too severe. Brendan Taylor and Moor shared a century partnership in the first essay, and only their partnership looked competitive in the second innings. However, once the latter got out by Mehidy Hasan, it was always going to end quickly.
With a massive lead, Bangladesh piled up more runs in the second innings to push the visitors at one corner. Mohammad Mithun started the repairing after few quick wickets, but it was Mahmudullah Rihad’s unbeaten century to scripted Bangladesh’s comeback. Taylor fought valiantly, but unfortunately, it was a one versus eleven battle. He remained unbeaten on 106 as he lost partners at the other end and eventually saw his team succumb to a 218-run defeat.
After a thumping loss in the ODIs, nobody expected Zimbabwe to show character in the Test series. However, they silenced the doubters with an excellent all-round performance at Sylhet, which ended their 5-year winless drought. They lost the second Test by a significant margin, but they can surely hold their heads high. Bangladesh, on the other hand, could only salvage a drawn series – playing at home ground.
Here is how the Twitter reacted as Bangladesh level terms in the two-match Test series :
@BrendanTaylor86 too unfortunate that an exceptional performance goes in vain as Bangladesh wins to level the series. Would have genuinely liked to watch another game as a decider. More power to @zimbabwecricket #BanVsZim

There can’t have been too many other examples of a batsman scoring 2 Test centuries in a losing cause before? ? #BANvZIM https://t.co/KKrFSJrT4L
