The historic day-night Test between India and Bangladesh at Eden Gardens in Kolkata has been a grand success. The home side secured a resounding victory to win the match along with the series. However, it didn’t end in a perfect note as Bangladesh’s local manager Tapan Chaki has now come under the scanner of the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Anti Corruption Unit for breaking protocol.

Meanwhile, India banked on a dominance from the fast bowlers to rout Bangladesh off the game. They bowled them out for 106 in the first innings before securing a 241-run lead banking on a century from the skipper. In reply, Mushfiqur Rahim managed to push the game into the third day but the fate was already written over the game. They took only 8.4 overs on day three to take the last three Bangladesh wickets, capping off a complete performance.

Bangladesh seem to have a poor time both on and of the field. After the drubbing in T20Is and Test series, their local manager for the Eden Test has come under the scanner. Chaki reportedly broke the protocol by using a mobile phone inside the dressing room after repeated warnings. Speaking to IANS, a BCCI official confirmed the same and said that they will Chaki for a hearing.

“The protocol is that the ACU officer on duty will report the matter and Chaki will be called for a hearing. If evidence is found against him, then the rest follows,” the official said.

BCCI has come down hard on any kind of corruption and they are looking at it very seriously. As per reports, Tapan Chaki will have to report immediately after he receives a notice from the apex body. The Sourav Ganguly-led body has adopted a zero-tolerance policy on any kind of corruption.
