BCCI to Conduct Interview for India Women's Team Coach on August 10

The governing body of cricket in India, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is going to conduct interviews for the post of India Women’s team head coach. According to a reliable source, 21 candidates have applied for this very post.

Pertinently, BCCI is scheduled to hold this interview process on August 10 at its headquarters in Mumbai. Following controversies with the senior members, chief coach Tushar Arothe earlier applied for the resignation, and since then the post is vacant.

The Baroda cricketer, Tushar sent the resignation to BCCI owing to differences in the mindset with the senior faculty.

Earlier, BCCI appointed former off-spinner, Ramesh Powar as a coach on a temporary basis.

Powar made an appearance as the temporary coach till BCCI will find a permanent member for this post. He supervised the camp that commenced on July 25. The exercise is going to be held around Bangalore, and it will wind up on Friday.

Top names who applied for the post:

Among the candidates who have applied for the job, there are Mamatha Maben, the former Indian Women’s cricketer along with Ajay Ratra, who is the ex-wicketkeeper.

Besides these, the present interim coach of Indian Women’s Team, Ramesh Powar also applied for the same position.

Earlier, the BCCI asked desirous candidates to apply for the post with the last date of application on July 20. The Board put a criteria that candidate must be below 55 years of age.

COA called for a meeting

In the meantime, on August 7, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) has asked for a meeting regarding the state of National Cricket Association (NCA) in Bangalore.

In addition, with BCCI look for a chief coach, the India women’s team is having a series of limited-overs against Sri Lanka in August.

The NCA was earlier incandescent recently after the injury of India’s regular Test wicket-keeper came into the spotlight.

Wriddhiman Saha is suffering from the shoulder injury that resulted that he is missing the pivotal five-matches series against England.
