Bollywood Producer And Former Cop's Brother Summoned for Involvement in IPL Betting

The Thane Police has issued warrants against Bollywood producer Parag Sanghvi and Sameer Buddha in the connection with the betting scandal. The latter is the brother of former police officer Sohail Budha.

Both were summoned to record their respective statement in connection with the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) betting case.

Well, it is learnt that Parag Sanghvi, the former cricketer is already a partner of bookie Sonu Jalan.

Jalan is also known as Sonu Malad, who was arrested in the betting case which wrecked IPL a few years ago.

As per reports, Sonu has been the primary fundraiser for several movies of Sangvi. His movies include the Attacks of 26/11, the Partner and the Sarkar Series.

“We have issued summons to them, and they have been asked to appear before us on Tuesday. Their roles, which have emerged during the course of the investigation, need to be verified. Jalan has claimed to be Sanghvi’s partner and funded his films,” Pradeep Sharma, a senior inspector of the Thane anti-extortion cell (AEC) was quoted as saying by the reporters.

The police have suspected that Sangvi and Jalan are partners. They are expected to make money for films from the cricket betting.

As per reports, the police will investigate the source of funds and try to find out the details of their use.

Owing to the investigation procedure, Thane Police will confront Sanghvi and Jalan face-to-face as per quotes from the police official.

In addition, the police further stated Buddha would be questioned too. It is because Buddha’s car was used by Jalan to travel places and commit the crimes. He was arrested inside the White Honda City car which is owned by Buddha.

Betting is a common practice all around the world. Though, it is a criminal practice it is being done by the whole world.

Furthermore, it is a simple way to earn money. However, betting can also ruin anyone’s life. The greed of money gets to the head of the person and at times he tends to mortgage just anything to bet on cricket matches or at other areas.

Recently Bollywood actor-producer Arbaaz Khan was summoned for his part in the IPL betting.
