Cricket Australia XI started Day three after they were in arrears by 334 runs. The openers D’Arcy Short and Max Bryant resumed at 24-0 and they got off to a good start. Both the openers were able to hit the ground running as they added a fine opening partnership. Short scored a fine knock 74 off just 91 balls whereas Bryant came up with a good inning of 62 runs from just 65 balls.

Consequently, they are able to give a brisk start to their side as they added 114 runs for the opening position. Furthermore, they scored their runs at a fine pace. Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin were able to send back both openers.

Cricket Australia XI are looking good for healthy lead.

Jake Carter and Cricket Australia XI skipper Sam Whiteman then added some crucial runs for their side. Both of them put up an alliance of 60 runs. Subsequently, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav were able to strike twice in quick succession.

Furthermore, India’s off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was able to effect a run-out. Moreover, Cricket Australia XI wicketkeeper Harry Nielsen and Aaron Hardie, who was able to get the big fish Virat Kohli scored half-centuries to further consolidate the host’s position.

Both the batsman brought up their hundred run partnership and it must have done them a world of good. On the other hand, Param Uppal and Jonathan Merlo could not trouble the scorers much as they scored five and three runs respectively.

Meanwhile, India’s premier fast bowler Mohammed Shami was able to scalp three wickets and he was the pick of the bowlers. Furthermore, Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin bagged one wicket each. Interestingly, India’s skipper Virat Kohli also bowled in the Cricket Australia XI innings. However, Ravindra Jadeja and Ishant Sharma went wicketless.
