Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik has got a place in the T20I series against Australia. However, dropping the Tamil Nadu batsman from the forthcoming series has left his World Cup spot in jeopardy. Consequently, Dinesh Karthik who leads Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL will need to turn the tables in the upcoming domestic T20 league.

He has played quickfire knocks in the recent past to help India get over the line. Hence, the Tamil Nadu batsman is going to be essential in the World Cup squad.

India’s former skipper MS Dhoni is going to take up the wicketkeeping role in the ICC World Cup 2019. However, Dinesh Karthik can take over the wicketkeeping gloves from Dhoni whenever the former captain needs rest during the ODI showpiece.

Dinesh Karthik might not be able to bring the same qualities to the table as compared to MS Dhoni but he is going to be a good back-up keeper. Karthik has all the experience under his belt which can be utilized by the Indian team management.

The right-hander has done a great job in the recent past which has helped his confidence level. In fact, it is rightly said that experience cannot be bought in the market and thus, DK is going to hold the key.

The veteran batsman has thus far scored 1738 runs in the ODI fold at an average of 31.04. Furthermore, he has scored his runs at a strike of 73.71 in the 77 innings of the 50-overs version.
