If there was one man who managed to bring a smile on the millions of Indian fans on an otherwise gloomy Wednesday, he has to be Ravindra Jadeja. The left-handed batsman revived India’s hopes in the semifinal against New Zealand when everything looked lost. Not many would have thought of the game going close after New Zealand reduced India to 92 for 6 while defending 239 on a tricky Manchester track.

However, the complexion of the game changed in a blink of an eye with Ravindra Jadeja taking the attack to the cleaners. Coming out to bat at number eight, Ravindra Jadeja slammed 77 from 59 balls. As usual MS Dhoni was more than happy to deal in singles but Jadeja made sure to hit the boundaries to keep the required-rate under check.

It did not matter whether he was facing spin or pace, Jadeja was looking class apart as he gave the Indian fans something to cheer about. Jadeja’s knock was studded with four fours and as many sixes. That only two more sixes were hit in the game tells the story of how just how good Jadeja was. However, with India needing 37 more runs, Jadeja miscued his shot to depart after playing arguably his best knock.

Dhoni tried for a while but a run-out ended his heroics too as India were all out for 221. Before his heroics with the bat, Ravindra Jadeja had impressed with the ball too. He had picked up 1 wicket while conceding just 34 runs off 10 overs. The southpaw had also affected a stunning run out in addition to picking up a stunning catch.

Ravindra Jadeja gave it his all in the game and he is ready to give more to the team’s cause. Hours after India’s heartbreaking loss, Ravindra Jadeja took to Twitter to thank the fans for their support and asked them to keep inspiring him.

“Sports has taught me to keep on rising after every fall & never to give up. Can’t thank enough each & every fan who has been my source of inspiration. Thank you for all your support. Keep inspiring & I will give my best till my last breath. Love you all,” wrote Ravindra Jadeja.
