ICC Releases Men's ODI Team Of The Year 2018

Well,  2018 has been quite a year for the cricket fanatics. They came across a lot of cricket right throughout the year with hardly a few non-cricketing days in the calendar year. Of them, we have witnessed quite a few scintillating bilateral series across the globe, where individuals came up with brilliant performances for their respective sides. Meanwhile, ICC releases their ODI Team Of The Year 2018.

Virat Kohli to lead the side:

Starting with the opening slot, they have named the vice-captain of India, who scored massive tallies for Indian National Cricket Team has been drafted in the side to open the innings. He has been India’s consistent run-scorer right through the year and also led India to Asia Cup victory in absence of their regular skipper Virat Kohli.

Pairing Rohit Sharma, it is Jonny Bairstow, who will be taking the strike at the non-striker end. Bairstow has been scintillating for England, who knocked match-winning scores more often than not at the opening slot.

Well, the most responsible slot in the batting lineup, number 3 will be looked by the Indian skipper Virat Kohli. He was also assigned captaincy role for the team. Virat Kohli ended up 2018 with staggering numbers in his kitty.

Joe Root, Ross Taylor will look after middle-order:

The flamboyant batsman of England Joe Root will join with Ross Taylor to take number 4 and number 5 spots respectively. Following the both, it was Jos Buttler, who was assigned to take wicketkeeping work alongside finisher role as well.

The all-rounder slot has been given to Ben Stokes, who has got only a few competitors in the world cricket. He easily surpassed everyone to stay in the ODI chart. Surprisingly, Shakib Al Hasan was ignored by the respective board. Perhaps, his absence in a few matches has made an effect.

Kuldeep Yadav, Rashid Khan to finish Spin quota:

The spin quota has been assigned to Rashid Khan and Kuldeep Yadav. Both have been exceptional for their respective countries, who worked their ways to achieve success. The duo will be accompanied by Mustafizur Rahman and Jasprit Bumrah to finish the ODI Team of the year 2018.
