Team India head coach, Ravi Shastri is known as a man who is quite vocal in what he does and says. Ever since becoming the head coach of the national team, Shastri has always hogged the limelight with his audacious comments. Many former cricketers criticized him, as he stated the current Indian team has done what no other Indian Test team has done over the last 20 years.

I don’t care about what people say – Shastri

In the generation of social media, it is understandable that any person holding such a big post like being the Indian coach will always be up to trolls and haters. Ravi Shastri is a target for a lot of trolls. Anything he says becomes pretty viral on social media for all the wrong reasons. During an interview with the Gulf News, Ravi Shastri spoke at length and said he uses Twitter and Instagram and only tweets. He is never bothered to read anything.

As per Ravi Shastri’s quotes, he gets to read one of two newspapers, and he loves being like that. Team India did manage to win the Asia Cup 2018. However, most of the focus is still on India’s poor performance in England, as they lost yet another series in the overseas conditions. He has been at the receiving end of some serious trolling.

Ravi Shastri never cares about the social trolls

“I sleep absolutely sound as I am used to my era where you would have one or two papers only, so you pick it up and read it. So I have time only for that. I don’t have time for anything else. I may be on Twitter or Instagram. I only tweet, I don’t read anything,” the Indian head coach said.

There is no doubt about the fact that Shastri will be under the scanner when India tours Australia for three ODI’s and T20I’s and four Tests later in the year.

Australia won’t be at their full force in the absence of Steven Smith and David Warner. It will be a huge opportunity for India to win their first Test series in Australia. However, Shastri is now focused on giving his 100%. He further added ignorance is bliss especially when it comes down to handling things on social media. It tends to get out of hand at times.

“Go hell with what people have to say as long as you are confident of what you are doing. You know that you are giving your 100% to the job you are doing. Rest is, I am not worried at all. If you start worrying about that, you start messing up a lot of other things, so I say ignorance is bliss,” he said.
