India vs Australia 2017: Axar Patel Injure Himself Ahead of the Fourth ODI
Updated - 25 May 2019, 04:14 PM
Indian all-rounder Axar Patel is having a hard time staying fit, he recently missed the first three ODIs against Australia after he injured his ankle while playing football during warm-ups. Which forced BCCI to recall the rested Ravindra Jadeja, as his backup.
India went on to beat Australia in all the three games and sealed the series in Indore with a five-wicket win. Just after the win at Holkar stadium, BCCI announced the team for the last two one-day internationals and only made one change by recalling Axar Patel.
Just ahead of the Bengaluru ODI, the left-handed all-rounder from Gujarat again reportedly injured himself while batting in the nets.
A reporter who was present where the practice session was on tweeted an update about the 23-year old’s injury, though the seriousness of his injury is still unknown, as there is no official statement made by the BCCI.

Meanwhile, Men in Blue have been on a rampage and two wrist spinners (Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Jadeja) did not let team India feel the absence of their usual spin duo of Ashwin and Jadeja, there was a chance for Axar in this series to leave an impact on the selectors who have cleared their intention of experimentation till they find a core team for the next ICC Cricket World Cup.
We are still awaiting a confirmation from the team management on Axar Patel’s injury.
