Hosts New Zealand Cricket team will look to bounce back in the second of the five-match ODI series after Indian National Cricket team eased their way with an eight-wicket victory at Napier.

Meanwhile, the hosts went down in the first outing to go trail 1-0 in the five-match ODI series.  Mohammed Shami started off before Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav joined the party to help India bowl New Zealand out for 157. India didn’t ‘t looked out of place during the run chase. Shikhar Dhawan held one end tight and alongside Virat Kohli, ensured it was a cakewalk for India. It was India’s first win against New Zealand in the land of Kiwis since 2009.

However, New Zealand will look to improve on their performance with both bat and ball when they take the field at the Bay Oval. They will have to improve their efforts against India’s spin duo who accounted for six wickets in the first outing.

Indian National Cricket team, on the other hand, will be happy with the boxes they ticked. However, they will ponder whether Hardik Pandya should slot in the playing XI right back in the second game.

Weather Forecast

The forecast is for partly cloudy skies in Mount Maunganui at the time of the toss, which might help pacers swing the new ball. New Zealand last played an ODI on this wicket in the first week of January, when they slammed 319. It was a run-fest, with both teams making a total of 617 runs.

A pleasant conditions will welcome the teams with a high of 25 degree Celsius and no rain expected. With Indian National Cricket team 1-0 up, hosts New Zealand will aim to bounce back in the second ODI.
