Indian opener and vice-captain, Rohit Sharma, who scored yet another T20I century to guide his team to a series win admitted that individual milestone was not in his mind while batting at Bristol.

Meanwhile, Indian bowlers turned things around to restrict the host within the 200-run mark. Pandya chipped in with four wickets while Jason Roy topped the batting chart with 67 runs.

In reply, however, it was Rohit’s swashbuckling century that sealed the game for the visitors. Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya also contributed with the bat. The Mumbai batsman became the second batsmen after Colin Munro to score three T20I hundreds. His knock included 11 boundaries and five towering sixes.

The 31-year-old in a chat with Dinesh Karthik for BCCI podcast admitted that his prime focus was on guiding his team to the victory. He also noted that individual milestone was not at all on his mind and was just thinking about the series win.

Individual milestones will happen along the way as long as you’re playing but I was not at all thinking about all of that. It was important once I got off to a good start, I was only thinking about how we can finish off the game. And that was the only thing that was playing in my mind because it was an important game for us,” Rohit said.

Earlier in Dublin, Rohit missed out on a T20I ton against Ireland and lost his wicket for 97 runs. Rohit explained how different were the circumstances.

In Ireland, it was all about making as many runs as possible because we were batting first. So I went after a shot, missed it and got out,” he continues.

Rohit misses his wife

Rohit, known for crediting his knocks to his wife Ritika Sajdeh, missed her when he guided India to a series win. He also noted that she must be watching me playing on TV.

My wife keeps a close tab on the games. I know she’s been watching from India,” Rohit mentioned.

In conclusion, the Mumbai captain revealed that she will be in England to support him in few days time.
