IPL 2018: All the Details of the Batsmen List in the Auction

The IPL auction 2018 has taken full flow as the first round of marquee has been completed and all the big names in the world of cricket have bagged some huge contracts with the IPL teams. The biggest bid was made by the Rajasthan Royals for the England all-rounder Ben Stokes. Rajasthan bought the star England player for a huge amount of 12.5 crores. Stokes has been the highest paid cricketer in the auction till now.

14 out of the 16 marquee players were sold. Just Chris Gayle and Joe Root remained unsold in the first set of marquee players.

In the second set of the auction which included the batsmen, KL Rahul and Manish Pandey were the two Indian batsmen who earned the most with 11 crores as Kings XI bought them Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively.

Karun Nair was the first player in the batsmen list and Kings XI Punjab bought right-handed batsman for 5.6 crores. Nair played for Delhi Daredevils in the previous IPL.

Kings XI Punjab made the most of the batsmen list bagging in four batsmen Karun Nair – KXIP (5.6 Cr), KL Rahul – KXIP (11 Cr), David Miller – KXIP (3 Cr), Aaron Finch – KXIP (6.2 Cr).

Brendon McCullum will now play for Royal Challengers Bangalore as he was sold for 3.6 crores and will add more power to the famed batting line-up which already has Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers.

Delhi Daredevils bought England’s opening batsman Jason Roy at his base price of 1.5 Crores. Delhi also bought Gautam Gambhir and Glenn Maxwell.

Hard-hitting Australian batsman Chris Lynn bagged huge money as he was bought for a whopping amount of 9.6 crores by his former side Kolkata Knight Riders.

South Africa’s Hashim Amla and New Zealand’s Martin Guptill who both played for Kings XI Punjab in the previous IPL season went unsold in the 1st round.
