IPL 2019 auctions would take place in the month of December.

The buzz for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2019) has already started in the town. Recently, the reports stated the Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) had asked the IPL franchises to submit their retained-players list on or before November 15th. Now, the very same report reveals the date and place for IPL 2019 auctions.

If the reports by ESPN Cricinfo are to be believed, the upcoming edition of the lucrative tournament will conduct auctions in Goa in December. However, the precise date is yet to be known.

IPL 2019 Auctions will be a one-day affair:

Unlike earlier auction for IPL 2018, this time the event is going to be a simple and one-day affair. Last time, it was a mega auction, where the franchises had worked to pick the 25-member squad.

However, this time, it is only to fill their released player’s slot in the team. Meanwhile, the franchises are also in talks of making internal tradings as well. The buzz is that RCB gave their wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock to Mumbai India in the first-ever trade in IPL.

Mustafizur Rahman and Akila Dananjaya released – Reports

Further, it comes to know that Mumbai Indians also left out Akila Dananjaya and Mustafizur Rahman for the upcoming edition. Rahman picked up an injury in the mid-tournament and also wasn’t up to the mark.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh is also not interested in sending Mustafizur Rahman ahead of the major tournament, especially, with the 2019 World Cup around the corner. On the other hand, Akila Dananjaya played only one game, who went for 47 runs.

All in all, it would be interesting to see the names on the list for the upcoming auctions. It is expected the names like Gambhir, Manish Pandey and Jaydev Unadkat might be on the paper.
