IPL 2019: David Warner Becomes First Batsman To Score 500+ in Five Straight Seasons

Sunrisers Hyderabad combative opener David Warner has become the first batsman in the IPL history to score more than 500 runs in five consecutive seasons. Warner has been in sublime form in the ongoing season as he has thus far scored 517 runs in nine matches at an average of 73.86 and strike rate of 148.56. The southpaw batsman will play three more matches for his franchise and he will have a chance to strengthen his score at the top of the ladder.

In fact, Warner is also the highest run-getter of the ongoing season. The left-hander had missed the previous season of the league as he was banned for one year for the ball-tampering saga.

Warner is a consistent performer.

The pugnacious batsman had scored 641 runs in the IPL 2017 as he had scored the maximum number of runs. Warner had scored his runs with an average of 58.27 with the help of four fifties and one hundred.

In IPL 2016, Warner had amassed 848 runs as he was the second highest run-getter of the edition. Warner had scored his runs with an average of 60.57 and scored a total of nine fifties in the season. He had also led Sunrisers Hyderabad to glory in the IPL 2016 which was their maiden and only title thus far.

Warner has performed day in and day out.

In IPL 2015, David Warner accumulated 561 runs as he was the leading run-getter once again. Warner scored his runs with an average of 43.23 with the help of seven fifties.

In IPL 2014, David Warner went on to score 528 runs at an average of 48 and scored eight fifties in the season. Thus, Warner has a consistent performer in the IPL and he has scored his runs consistently. The talisman batsman has thus far scored 4531 runs in 123 IPL matches he has played at an average of 42.04. Warner has scored 42 fifties and four hundred in the IPL history.
