Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) claimed a thrashing home victory on Sunday (21st April) evening when they comfortably beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Uppal, Hyderabad).

After the host side sent the visitors to bat first, the visiting side managed to score 159/8 (20 overs) in the first innings. In reply, the home team chased down that target in 15 overs after losing just one wicket.

i) SRH won this match by nine wickets. It is their largest victory (by wickets) against KKR as their previous record was winning by five wickets for two times.

ii) SRH won this match by nine wickets with 30 balls to spare. It is their third largest victory (by the number of balls remaining in the second innings) in T20 cricket history. Their top two records are winning by 37 balls remaining against Delhi Daredevils (at Hyderabad, Deccan on 4th May 2013) and winning by 31 balls remaining against Gujarat Lions (at Rajkot on 21st April 2016).

i) The left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed had the bowling figures of 4-0-33-3. It is the second best bowling figures by a left-arm bowler in a match between SRH and KKR. Iqbal Abdulla (for KKR), the left-arm spinner, is the record holder with the bowling figures of 3.5-0-39-3 (at Hyderabad, Deccan on 19th May 2013).

ii) David Warner has scored 4,531 IPL runs. After Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, David Warner is the fourth batsman to score 4,500+ IPL runs.

iii) The left-handed batsman David Warner has scored 829 IPL runs against KKR. In IPL history, no other batsman has scored more runs than him against a particular side. Suresh Raina is in the second position with 818 IPL runs against KKR.

iv) David Warner becomes the fourth Australian batsman to play four successive 50+ scores in T20 career. Lee Carseldine, Michael Klinger and Usman Khawaja were the other Australian batsmen to achieve this feat in T20 career. No Australian batsman has played more than four 50+ scores in T20 career.

v) Another opener Jonny Bairstow remained not out on 80 runs. It is the second highest individual score by an SRH batsman against KKR at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Uppal, Hyderabad). The record holder is David Warner who scored 126 runs on 30th April 2017.

vi) David Warner and Jonny Bairstow put a 131-run partnership for the opening wicket. It is the second highest opening partnership against KKR while the record is 139 runs partnership between David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan (SRH) at Hyderabad (Deccan) on 30th April 2017. Meanwhile, the 131 runs partnership is the joint fourth highest partnership for any wicket against KKR.
