IPL 2019 Auctions: Ishant Sharma To Play For Delhi Capitals

Well, after failing to feature in the previous edition of Indian Premier League, Ishant Sharma gets the nod for IPL 2019. His state team Delhi side bagged him for the upcoming edition to add an Indian bowling option in the ranks. He was bought for INR 1.10 Croes by Delhi Capitals, who already made quite a few purchases in the auction.

Ishant Sharma hasn’t had a great success in the shorter formats of the game, which saw him sitting out of IPL 2018. He has got the problem with his no-balls, which always saw the wrong side of things for him.

However, it seems like Delhi Capitals has made a keen look on the lanky lad, who was impressive in the recent past. He delivered brilliantly while playing in county cricket with white-ball. He has got unique skills of getting the bounce from the flat tracks with his height advantage.

He was started with the base price of INR 75 Lakhs. Delhi straight away lifted their wand to bag him. However, the Rajasthan Royals also tried to pouch him, which opened the gates for a bidding war.

Nevertheless, it wasn’t a big one, as Rajasthan Royals were out of the war when Delhi Capitals auctioned INR 1.10 Crores for Ishant Sharma. All in all, it was a decent pick for Delhi Capitals, as Ishant is currently in a solid form.

Earlier, Delhi Capitals bagged the services of Hanuma Vihari and Axar Patel as well. It seems like Delhi Capitals have come with a decent picture, as they are pretty smart enough in bagging Indian players’ services.
