IPL 2019: KKR Announces Kaustubh Jha as New Head of Marketing

Kaustubh Jha has been appointed by Kolkata Knight Riders.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have announced the appointment of Kaustubh Jha as their head of marketing ahead of the IPL 2019. Meanwhile, Jha comes with over ten years of experience in partnerships, content marketing, and campaign management. He has now joined KKR from ESPN, where he was leading brand and content marketing for both ESPN Cricinfo and ESPN.in. However, Kolkata Knight Riders CEO and MD, Venky Mysore has confirmed the appointment.

However, before ESPN, Kaustubh Jha was a part of Marketing Business and Consumer Insights team at MTV, Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd. Moreover, Jha specialises in providing brand solutions through integrated marketing. Media planning and buying, brand solutions and digital marketing are his specialities.

However, in ten seasons of the Indian Premier League, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have won it twice. Moreover, two of the most successful teams have been Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, who have won it thrice.

In the 2018 season of the IPL, the Knight Riders failed to enter the summit clash despite putting some inspiring performances in the tournament. Also, ahead of the 2019 IPL, the franchise has released Australia fast bowler, Mitchell Starc.

Although the team has gained immense popularity due to his association with celebrity owners, it got surrounded with controversies and poor on-field performance through the first three years. However, the dates for the 2019 IPL are yet to get announced.
