Cricket is a great leveler and it was proved last night after SRH lost to RCB by 35 runs. On that note, former Sunrisers head coach Tom Moody has asked his former employers to keep their feet on the ground.

If there's any team that has well and truly terrified bowling opposition, then it's the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Their batting order consisting of Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram, and Heinrich Klaasen among others have already scored 250+ scores. But they haven't been as effective while chasing, something that was quite evident last night at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium.

Tom Moody says it was a good game to lose for SRH

While speaking in ESPNcricinfo's post-match RCB vs SRH show, Tom Moody had some complimentary things to say about the Sunrisers. The 2016 IPL winning coach with the South-Indian outfit claimed that it was a good game to lose for them as the loss would not affect them much in the points table.

Tom Moody said that losing to RCB is a good reality check for them and a reminder for them that it won't always be roses and daffodils. Especially after the kind of run they had where SRH scored back-to-back 200+ scores, a loss was almost inevitable. No IPL team has ever won the competition without losing a match and that will be the case for SRH too.

Then Tom Moody gave another perspective as to why SRH's loss to RCB was a good thing. The law of averages got settled in a match where the opposition's loss won't affect the points table that much. Bengaluru is still at the bottom of the points table after the win and Hyderabad is still 3rd after the loss.

"Oh, it's always nice to, I suppose if you are going to lose a game, you lose a game to a team that's not going to affect you on the points table. And RCB aren't going to have any influence on that top 4, apart from doing what they did today and spoiling a few parties. But at times, a timely reminder that you are human and you can slip up if all things don't go in your favor." - Moody said via ESPNcricinfo's Timeout show.

Moody says SRH should change their batting approach

One of the reasons why SRH lost the game was the lack of patience shown by the batters. We have seen them slog every single ball in their previous matches but this strategy can't always work, can it? That was what Tom Moody pointed out that they can't always rely on the stand-and-deliver approach and sometimes they have to do some "heavy lifting".

"Let's face it, the last four games that Sunrisers have had a remarkable run of cricket which has just blown us all away and we've all appreciated. And it's just a timely reminder that we need to keep out feet in the ground and there's time that you might have to do some heavy lifting in your batting and it can't be just stand and deliver." - Tom Moody concluded.
