Perhaps, there is no player like Jofra Archer, who garnered high praises and become a household name before making his appearance in the International Cricket. His incredible all-round skills have made him an often headliner in the news, who already signed quite a few million-dollar deals, across the globe. Meanwhile, Eoin Morgan speaks on his chances for ICC World Cup 2019.

The 23-year-old all-rounder was born in Barbados and, although he holds a British passport, was not originally allowed to represent England until 2022. However, the England and Wales Cricket Board have reduced the residency period players need to fulfil before becoming eligible for England from seven to three years.

We Make A decision once Jofra Archer is available – Eoin Morgan

The England skipper quoted that they need to make a few adjustments to their side before heading into ICC World Cup 2019. He believes that the big tournaments will let the players injured. Hence, a pool of backups must be ready to chip in and perform straight away.

Speaking of Jofra Archer, Morgan showered some high praises for the youngster. But, in the meantime, he added that Archer needs to show his calibre once he will be available for the selection, as Morgan feels that nothing comes easy.

“Jofra’s quite close to qualifying. I’ve played against him a lot, he’s in demand around the world and I think that’s justified because of the talent that he is and his performances, not only at Sussex, the IPL, Big Bash, he’s done some brilliant things. So again, we are open-minded to things. We’ll make a decision once he’s actually available.”

“We are probably as close as we can be at the moment,” Morgan said of England’s World Cup 15. “We have to be open-minded in adjustments that need to be made, particularly in the fast-bowling department. Fast bowlers get injured, they pick up niggles. So the games in the West Indies, even to the extent that when we announce the squad, when we play games after that we’re still going to have to have replacements who are like-for-like. I’m happy with where we’re at.

Well, it seems like bells are ringing for Jofra Archer to live his dream of playing International Cricket. Going with the form and his calibre, it is expected that Archer can be the brilliant addition for England across the formats.
